Fantasyspark just stared dumb-foundedly at the tom. "Wh-whats your name?" Her voice was soft, and it held a little bit of pain in it.

Timerunner looked ashamedly at the ground. How could he tell her his name? He couldn't talk! Not that he wanted to, he thought with a glimmer of defiance. He would honor his vow. He tried to come up with a way to motion 'Time', and came up with pointing at the sun and then making movements to show it changing positions. Then, he mimicked running and pointing to himself with his tail. Would she get that? He wondered..

Fantasyspark stared at him blankly. Um . . . I can understand the last part. "Runner? But, i dont understand the first part. Sunrunner?" She was really trying hard to figure this out. She was paying close attention to try and understand.

He nodded when she said 'runner' but shook his head at 'sunrunner'. He thought harder, his initial annoyance fading away, replaced by his frustration with communication. Time... How could he better represent time. He thought harder. He drew a picture of one moon and then an arrow moving to another moon. He drew the two moons together. One moon (a time measurement for cats) plus another moon- two moons. Maybe that would help?

"Um . . ." Fantasyspark watched his drawings closer. "Moonsrunner?" It didnt sound right, but what if it was his name? Or could it mean time? Time . . . time . . . Timerunner? She wasnt so sure about that one either. Ill wait to see if its Moonsrunner first. she decided

He tilted his head, waiting. Had she finally gotten Timerunner? He stared patiently at the she cat, mind racing to come up with ways if she didn't get this one...He wondered what her name was. He planned on asking as soon as they got over the problem of his name. He grinned slightly and shook his head...

Timerunner jumped up, smiling and nodding his head enthusiastically. She got it! He thought. That was more than most cats could do! Of all the cats in his clan, none tried to be friends with him; he was too hard to communicate with. Oh, Rikka didn't do too badly though. He thought, remembering his earlier "conversation" with the medicine cat. He gave her a questioning glance and pointed to her.

Fantasyspark was happy that she got it right. "Im Fantasyspark! Its nice to meet you, Timerunner!" She grinned happily at him. Have we become friends? she wondered She shook her head, feeling odd. Cats werent suppose to make friends with cats from other clans.

Timerunner grinned. Nice to meet you... Fantasyspark.. He thought. Wait, had he actually had a conversation, with a cat outside his clan? He didn't care. This was the first time any cat had cared enough to try and have a conversation with him, and not get frustrated. He smiled, enjoying this. Hmm, he thought and mimed out another question, this one being 'what are you doing?' it was very hard to mime..

Timerunner had forgotten, but at her reminder, it came rushing back, and he flinced as he memory of his sister Melodykit flitted back. He shook his head, and covered his head with his paws, shaking his head. He didn't want to see it again.. no.. not again!
