My very days are numbered and my times are in Thy hand
but someone has abandoned me and I don't understand
one day she turned her back on me and simply walked away
and I do not know why because she didn't care to say Rosekit sat at the mouth of the nursery. Her eyes were glazed. She was sad, but thinking hard about something. I'll find her. I'll find out why she did this. And she'll want me like she once did. Or maybe she didn't. I just have to know her... Thought the small kit. Her white and black patched fur was fluffed out from the cold night. She stood and looked at the cats occasionally passing by. Unknown to her, she had excellent eyesight like her Nightclan father, and could see as clearly as any other cat. She perked her ears as some kits squecked to their mother, and another wave of sadness made her fall to the ground. I thought that our two hearts were linked, I thought our relationship true
and I know that she loves You, Lord, the same way that I do
but something caused my mother to change, to cut her heart from mine
if she had reason for it, Lord, I never saw the sign. She lay in the mouth and put her head on her tiny paws. She closed her eyes and brilliant dreams filled her head. Some of her, a full Nightclan warrior, running through the forest, fighting against intruders, and then some soft, her with two tiny kits beside her, and some of a companion, sitting with her under the stars. But then one really caught her attention. Rosekit watched as a blurry shape of an elegant she cat loped through the snow. Her vision sharpened and she got closer. For some reason Rosekit couldn't really tell what the cat looked like, except for her bright blue eyes. They were watery with tears, and they were making her face darker. She set the kit down in a place with no snow and rubbed a leaf all over her. "I'm sorry my little Rosekit. I cannot be with you any longer. Remember me" She said in a pained voice. Then the pretty cat ran away, small mews escaping her maw.My very days are numbered and my times are in Thy hand

Suddenwind looked at the young kit, who looked like she was day-dreaming. "What are you doing Rosekit" the she-cat asked gently "Young cats like you should be playing, not lying around."

Rosekit's eyes shifted to above her, where a female warrior stood. She sluggishly sat up and stared at her for a moment. "I'm thinking. And besides, no one wants to play with me" She said in monotone.
It was true though. Most of the other kits thought she was strange, to busy with herself to notice others. But it wasn't true, the other kits were just...to..happy.

Suddenwind felt sorry for the obviously heavily burderned kit. "I'd be happy to play with you, if you'd like." She said hopefully, which was not normal for Suddenwind. Usually she would be walking away by now.

The kit's eyes sparked for a moment and then faded. She knew that the warrior was just trying to make her happy. I know you really don't want too. Thank you for offering. She said in a weirdly polite tone.

"No, I really do want to." Suddenwind said, sighing. And it was true, she did want to play with Rosekit, and make her happy but at this rate they weren't going anywhere. "We can do anything you want." the warrior promised. "Climb, hunt, doesn't matter to me." she said.

She got the message and stood, shaking her short pelt. I want to climb a tree! She said, almost back to what a normal kit would do, bouncing about and such. She smiled smally and sighed.

"Climbing a tree it is." Suddenwind comfirmed. Leading the young kit through the light snow that was still on the ground, she came before a tree. "Watch and learn." She directed Rosekit.Gathering her strength in her haunches, she sprang and landed on a branch, taking a few secound to gain her balance. "You do it just like that." The she-cat said.

She watched in wonder at Suddenwind. I can do that....maybe? She thought. Quickly she did the same, bunched her muscles and lept on a much lower branch where she could reach. She steadied herself as she landed onto the branch and teetered for a moment. I did it! She squecked. I want Suddenwind to be my mentor!! She thought excitedly.

Suddenwind smiled down at the kit. "That was fantastic!" she mewed exitedly. "Your a natural." "This time, look where you want to land and don't look away, and dig your claws into the bark of the branch your landing on to give you more balance." Instructed the she-cat. She stayed on the branch she was on, incase she needed to help Rosekit.

The little she kit nodded and dug her unusual black claws into the bark, no longer swaying. She looked up and smiled widely, revealing extremely white, sharp teeth. She looked down and her eyes grew wide. This was higher than she thought it would be.
Rosekit started to sway again, this time not noticing. Her back paws slipped and she was hanging by her front paws. Whoa! She gasped, loosing her breath.

The cream colored she-cats instincts took over, and she lunged for the kits scruff. Gently setting Rosekit next to her she gasped "And that why we train with warriors."

Rosekit looked at Suddenwind sheepishly and blinked. Hehe...yeah She said, smiling. She wondered if Suddenwind already had an apprentice. WIth excitement, Rosekit remembered that in about 2 moons she would be an apprentice herself. Wouldn't my mother be proud of me! She thought happily.

"All right. We're aiming for that branch." she said, pointing at a very large, thick branch about half way up the tree with her tail. ' I haven't seen my apprentice around.' Suddenwind thought, a bit annoyed. 'I want to start his training as soon as possible.' She lept up one branch, and another finally settling on the second one.

She nodded determidly and bunched her muscles again, soon coming up beside Suddenwind, wagging her tail like a dog more than a cat. She tilted her head and looked at Suddenwind. Who is your mother? She asked. She didn't realize that it was probably a really weird question, but she asked almost everyone she knew.
