Lilypaw nodded, itching to start. Fishing sounded like so much fun! She'd have to pester Inkprint about doing it with her sometime. Her tail waved gently through the air, showing her eagerness and excitement..

Okay.. all you have to do is wait for a flickering silver image of a fish come close to the bank and put a paw in the water like a hook and scoop it out into the land okay? Fawnprint instructed, her eyes examined the water and she pointed at a silvery fish a few tail lengths away, Why don't you try catching that one?

Lilypaw nodded, her focus on the water, and the gleaming fish underneath it's still surface. it came closer... closer... Lilypaw swiped out at the fish!

Fawnprint beamed when the glossy fish hit the ground. To help Lilypaw she bit it so it stopped flapping about, Great job! she commented, But next time, don't attack the water. The ripples create a distress so the other fish wont come. remembering what Dapple told her.

"Oops," Lilypaw meowed. "Does that mean I scared them all away? Awww...." She bent over the water, searching for signs of more fish. "Hey, can we eat the fish now?" She smiled, giving Fawnprint a hopeful and pleading look...

Fawnprint nodded, Sure. But then we will have to bring more for the clan she mewed somewhat thoughtfully. Fawnprint stared at the water dragging her tail tip along the surface until a small silvery fish started following. She smiled and slowed her swaying until the fish latched on and Fawnprint flicked her tail hard making it slide to shore, Well there is one for the clan she said wishing to tell her mother that she improved her technique..

Lilypaw's jaw dropped. "That was awesome!! How'd you know it'd do that? And doesn't it feel weird when it bites your tail?" She meowed, poking the now dead fish Fawnprint had caught..

Fawnprint giggled, No, it just feels like you're fur getting tugged by a small thorn. she explained, And the twolegs..when you watch them throw sticks over the water the fish bite somthing and they pull them out. You should watch twolegs next time, they can be really resourceful

"I've never seen one of them before. Do they live around these parts?" She asked, "It'd be so fun to actually try and watch them! Though... I've heard lots of tales about all the horrible things they've done.." She added, flicking her tail over the water...

"Oh, okay. I guess I'll have to wait until then." She meowed. "So Fawnprint, do you have any siblings? I don't have any.." She made a face, keeping an eye on the fish. "That stinks... I didn't have any littermates to play with..." The fish nibbled and Lilypaw whipped her tail out of the water, the silver fish flying with it. It landed on the grass with a thump, still wriggling, trying to get back into the water, but Lilypaw quickly dispatched it...

Fawnprint's eyes became full of despair. She had Glow as a littermate but her mother and father put her in Skyclan...she didn't have the chance to be a good playmate for Arrow and Ace who were still growing up...
Fawnprint looked away, No.
She didn't want Lilypaw asking were her kin was. That would give everything away.

Lilypaw could hear the sorrow and despair in Fawnprint's voice, and assumed that they'd died... She hung her head. Why did she have to go and ask Fawnprint about her siblings? Guilt washed over her... "I'm sorry Fawnprint..I..I didn't mean to remind you about something painful.."

Fawnprint blinked and looked surprised and then noted that yes it was painful, but Lilypaw had the wrong idea! No it's nothing THAT painful. My siblings aren't dead.. maybe it is okay to tell Lilypaw about my family....though mom and dad might get....mad
