Pain and Joy mingled..

Lakeripple padded into the nursery, her sea colored eyes shining in the light. "My, my," she purred. "Someone fancies being a leader!" She purred lightly, wincing as a painful memory of her own kits struck her. Shaking it off, she glanced at Cougarstrike. "Do you know where the others are? I could help find them..."

"Sharkkit, don't use that tone with me young mister. You were sleeping, so your sisters went off to find something to do. They're probably looking for your father. You may go find them if you wish. They'd better be in camp." Cougarstrike meowed, sternly, but lovingly. "Hi Lakeripple," Cougarstrike turned and smiled at the she cat. "Oh, it's alright. They're looking for Winterstripe...But.. could you keep an eye on them if you see them? As soon as Artickit wakes from his nap, I'll take over watch. Would you?" She asked...

Wolfkit raced through the camp. "Phoenixkiiiiiit! Where's dad? I don't see him anywhere!" She ran side by side with her sister...

Lakeripple purred. "Of course I would!" She padded out of the nursery after the other kits.

"Thanks so much Lakeripple!" Cougarstrike meowed after the she cat. "Keeping track of four kits is quite a pawful!" She was grateful for Lakeripple's help- She never knew what her kits were going to get into...

Sharkkit ran eagerly out of the nursery, and barrelled into Woflkit. "Hey!" he cried. "Why did you leave without me?" He head-butted his sister affectionately. "You could have just woken me up, mousebrain!"

Wolfkit tumbled head over heels as Sharkkit ran into her. She twisted around, a snarl on her face, but it melted away, to be replaced with happiness at the sight of Sharkkit. "Me and Phoenixkit are trying to find Daddy!" She meowed managing to catch what her brother had said. "But we can't find him yet. I hope he hasn't left the camp..." A glint came into her amethyst eyes. "Maybe we could follow him! But we didn't wake you up because mom doesn't like it when we rudely awake you and Artickit." She playfully gnawed on his ear, putting her forepaws on his shoulders..

Phoenixkit ignored her older brother. She caught sight of Winterstripe with Deafstar. "Daddy!" She ran over, tackling him.

Deafstar chuckles softly. "Energetic kits you have."

Winterstripe purred as Phoenixkit and soon Wolfkit tackled him. "Well good morning my little ones! What are you three up to now?" He licked Phoenixkit's head and gently put her on his back. Wolfkit tried to leap up, to no avail. "Let me up, Daddy! pleeeease?" She begged.

"Yes, very energetic." he chuckled, lifting Wolfkit as well. "I can only imagine what they'll be like as apprentices!"

Sharkkit dashed after his siblings only to crash into his father as well. "Hi!" he said breathlessly.

Phoenixkit laughs happily, crawling up and down Winterstripe. "This is fun! We want to go exploring, Daddy!"

Deafstars eyes lit up with laughter. "Yes, i do agree. We may need to watch them all closely."

Winterstripe smiled gently, but shook his head. "It's not safe right now, especially for young kits like yourselves. Be patient, when you're apprentices, you'll be able to explore the territory. But you haven't completely explored in camp- I've heard," he lowered his voice conspiratorically, "that there's some wonderful hiding places, as well as unimaginable treasure. Now, don't tell any cat I told you." He pulled his three kits closer towards him. "It's a secret!"

Wolfkit's eyes gleamed. She had caught 'treasure' and 'secret' and that was enough for her! "Let's go find it!" She meowed excitedly to her siblings..

Deafstar mrrwed softly.

"Yea! Okay! Secret teasure!" Phoenixkit whispers She smiled at her other siblings. "Lets go exploring now!"

Sharkkit paused. "Wait a moment." he mewed thoughtfully. "Maybe if we split into two groups, we could find stuff more quickly? I'll go on my own, and you two go together, and when we find anything worth exploring, we find eachother and go together. We'll be able to explore the whole camp really quickly, and we'll know all the hiding places and where the cool stuff is!" he glanced at the other two. "What do you think?"

Winterstripe hid a smile. His son was already showing signs of becoming a strategist like his father, perhaps even better. He turned to Deafstar. "So I'll go out and look for Painpaw's sister?" He meowed...

Wolfkit shrugged. "Sure! Is that okay Phoenixkit? We can meet back here. Should we have a call if one of us finds something and needs to call the others?" She said her voice beginning to squeak due to excitement.

Deafstar looked thoughtful, then nodded. "Yes, you may."

Phoenixkit somewhat glares. "But i want to search alone too! Why dont we all just look on our owns, cause that way we can search much, much quicker!"
